Modpacks

Install modpacks from the Modrinth or CurseForge catalog, from a .mrpack or from a .zip you already have. The launcher remembers which pack and version the instance came from.

Install

  • From the catalog, with the pack logo as the instance cover.
  • From a local .mrpack (Modrinth) or .zip (CurseForge).
  • "Install as: Server" creates the server of a pack, with only the files it marks for the server side.
  • Everything is downloaded and verified before the instance is touched.

Update without losing your changes

An instance that came from a pack can move to another version, or have the installed version files put back, through a plan you see beforehand.

  • The pack only replaces and removes what you never touched.
  • A file you edited that the pack also changed is a conflict: kept by default and decided on screen.
  • A file you deleted stays deleted on update and comes back on repair.
  • A snapshot is taken first, so you can roll back.

Export

  • Any instance becomes a .mrpack or .zip to share.
  • The package points to the mods instead of carrying them and says right away what was left out. Launcher cache files are not included.
